City Stories: Tales of Love and Magic in London had its US premiere Off-Broadway in 2016. This play with music presents four very personal vignettes with connecting threads through storytelling, acting, and song. We are very excited to announce that Rosabella Gregory will join this Midwest premiere to perform her original music with our cast.

Cast & Creative
James Phillips is a writer and director. His play City Stories had a Residency at St James Theatre, London from 2014-17 and in May 2016 transferred to 59East59 Theater in New York City where it opened to terrific reviews. Other works include his 4-part epic show, Flood, voted by Guardian Newspaper Readers as one of the Top 10 UK shows of 2017; The Rubenstein Kiss (which he also directed) received both the TMA Award for Best Play of the Year and the John Whiting Award; McQueen: or Lee and Beauty broke box office records at St James Theatre in London and then transferred to the West End; Camelot: The Shining City was named one of the top five UK Theatre Shows of 2015 by The Guardian Newspaper. He is under commission to write a new play for Chichester Festival Theatre and has two feature films in development. James is Associate Artist of the Oxford Playhouse, an Associate of Wilton’s Music Hall and Artistic Director of NSDF.
Rosabella Gregory is an award-winning singer-songwriter, composer and Royal Academy of Music graduate. She is one of the ten composers selected to create an original song for The Canales Project #HearHerSong initiative (2019). Recent works include My Marcello, a musical comedy selected for BEAM2018, Where No Bell Tolls, an aria commissioned by the National Opera Studio (Hoxton Hall/ Grimeborn, 2018), City Stories (numerous venues including residency at St James Theatre and 59E59, New York City). Her song "Love" (City Stories) was a finalist for the Stiles & Drewe Best Song Prize (2018). Rosabella is a sought-after arranger, working with a diverse array of artists including Faroese singer-songwriter and filmmaker Heiðrik á Heygum, Sarod virtuoso Soumik Datta, and UK pop sensation, Busted. As a solo artist, she has released three solo albums and performed internationally and throughout the UK, both going solo and supporting acts such as the legendary Jools Holland. Rosabella is a lecturer in Composition at the London College of Music, University of West London.
